Dave Burns

Dave Burns offers half-day, full-day and multi-day trips through his outfitting company, The Golden Gillie. Clients may fish 15 rivers and 31 lakes, all within an hour's drive of Burns’ home in Golden, British Columbia. Burns chooses locations based on a number of variables, such as time of year, group size, anglers' abilities, goals for the day, etc. Burns and his guides enjoy discussing options with each client and giving them the best experience possible. That may mean lower elevation lakes that thaw first. Then additional ice-off opportunities and prolific hatches at higher elevation lakes throughout summer and fall. He prefers to be on moving water, but sight-fishing for rainbows up to 12 pounds, he says, “is a great consolation” when he’s not pursuing bulls.
